Hey Mom...Did You Know That You...

These are are words that make me cringe when my 2 ALMOST 13 year old daughters say.

Them...
 "Mom, did you know that when you watch TV you shake your head "YES" and "NO" the whole time???  Who are you agreeing or disagreeing with?" 

ME...
"I do not"

Them...
"Ummmm...YES you do."

Ok...I have been paying attention...and I DO do that when I am watching TV!!!  I also do it to the computer!!!  Good Grief...who the heck AM I agreeing or saying no to????   I also wiggle & move side to side when I watch "So You Think You Can Dance."  My girls laugh at me the whole time.  I danced until I was about 20...and I just can't help it!  Got the boogie in me:)


Them...
"Mom, did you know you move your lips when you read?" 

ME...
"NO WAY...I do not!!!!!"

Them...
"It is really funny...and you make faces too."

ME...
"You guys are making it up...and you are a little mean...brats...go away..."


OK...I cannot believe it...THIS I do too!!!!!  In fact...I am doing it as I am writing this post!!!  Oh dear, my dad did that too...I guess we really do turn into our parents.  Or...maybe it is something that happens when we get old...or maybe I spend too much time on my own and I am going a little crazy...I think ALL of the above:)

So now, when the girls say..."Did you know you..."  I am getting them back with embarassing stories from when they were little...like..."Did you know you would get on the potty together, bum to bum and go potty at the same time???"  They shut up pretty fast:):)

Memorial Day

Catholic Treasure...

I am cleaning out cabinets and closets.  Trying to simplify & pass on things I have not used in a loooong time!  Yesterday I found this little Catholic Momento Treasure!!  The ephemera alone...oh goodness...so beautiful!! I have used a few prayer cards(50 of them!!!  From eary 1940's & 1930's) in collages over the years, but really, I just think someone would get more meaningful use out of it...soooooo...to Etsy it goes!  It is hard letting go of treasure sometimes...but the thought of LESS in my small house is a good reward!!

Some "mini" signs for a friend...

I am building a fence with my hubby this weekend...I drilled holes in pipe last night till dark...last weekend dug post holes...putting the wood fence on tomorrow.  Each post has 30lbs of concrete holding it down.  The cross boards screwed into a 2 3/4 pipe.  My husband is the KING of overkill:)  I told him last night that a tornado could land on Paso Robles...every house will be gone...but our 100 feet of fence will still be there!!!

Look What I Won!!

Woo Hoo!!!  I am so excited to get this yummy package in the mail!!  I so very rarely win anything...it is so much fun!!  I participate in Linda's Swaps each season...Linda is soooo awesome!!!

Messy Creative

I love when I have a stack of painted signs.  Oh the possibilites!!!  I am absolutely "messy creative!"  My husband does not understand this...how I can work like this.  I don't know why!!!  I have tried and tried to be organized about it...clean up as I go...everytime it just ends up looking like this...

Oh well...at least I was able to be motivated enough to get some things done this week!!  The little bit of rain yesteday and this morning stopped my production for a little while...but I will NOT be knocked of track!!!  I just picked up a new customer...Fat Cat Farms in Paso Robles.  They are on a main Winery Road...hoping to grab some of those THOUSANDS of wine tourists we get each year.  Here are a few signs I have for Etsy this week.  Hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

MMMMMM...Childhood Favorite Breakfast

Oh...I LOVED this breakfast when I was a kid...Egg In A Hole...or we used to call it "Frog In A Hole."  Why frog...I have no clue:)  If you have not made this in a while...like me...or if you have never made it...treat your family tomorrow morning!  Use a cookie/biscuit cutter to cut out middle.  Then add bread to a frying pan...crack an egg in the middle...cook like you are frying an egg...so EASY!  Don't forget to fry up the little circle for "extra" toast:)  I made it for my family this week...they ALWAYS love it!!  Recently I ordered it from a local restraunt...and they made it using homemade bread and served it with warm syrup!  So yummy!!

Needed a couple of Baby gifts this week.  I just love making these signs...I can customize them to the colors in their nursery.

Bad Mom...

Ok...I made my son cry this morning.  He is almost 11...so it is not easy to make him cry.  In the middle of 5th Grade State Reports...his assignment due tomorrow is hand drawn state symbols.  Nick is always drawing...so I did not realize the paper by the phone was "the" paper he had been working on for an hour yesterday!  Well...me...get a phone call...need to jot down a few notes...in total La La Land. 

Nick this morning..."who drew on my state report???" Uhhhhhhh...."me???"  Instant tears!!  Oh no...I am sorry...I know I can fix this. 

A little white out and a copy machine later...I think we are ok.  He only has to redraw the leaves on the tree....whew...disaster saved.  It just made me realize...as "big" as I feel my kids are getting...they are still sometimes "little."  Oh, and it also made me realize...I am a BIG dork...but everyone knows that:)

Mother's Day

SO CUTE!!!  We went to Morro Bay and the sweetest little group of sea otters were all tied to eachother, floating around out there!  I love the way they all hang out together...rely on eacother!

I hop everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day!  I was truly pampered...kids made breakfast AND cleaned up!  It is nice having older kids...Mother's Day takes on a whole new meaning!

This Girl is thankful it is FRIDAY!!!

Boy...it has been one of those weeks!!  Last minute, custom sign orders.  Made so fast...I forgot to get pictures!!!  Reports due at school for my son.  "Mom, I need $10.00 for the 5K fundraiser", "oh yearbooks cost $30.00 mom," "There are no socks clean mom!" "There is nothing to eat mom!"  MOM, Mom, Mom!!!!  So...all I am asking for Mother's Day is to sleep in...and when I finally open my eyes...for one of my lovelies to bring me a cup of tea!  Simple pleasures!!!
