High Hopes!!

One of my "HOPES" this year, is to balance work, family & business a little better. It was a difficult transition for me in 2009. I was so accustomed to getting to be creative whenever I wanted to...this scheduling and time managment stuff is really not ME:) So...in 2010 I plan to "make" time for signs...get more of them posted on Etsy...I am off to a start...here are a few signs I finished this week!!I also found all this interesting Ephemera this week...quilt patterns, pagees from an old Family Album and of all things...funeral & death themed. Some of it is from the 1800 's!!

Resolutions????

What are your resolutions this year???? Hmmmm...I usually do not make resolutions. I am always so dissapointed in myself if I don't accomplish them...so I just don't make them. Maybe I will this year...now that I think about...all the things I need to change...YUCK...forget it:):)

Off For the Weekend!!

Off to my parents house for the weekend! My husband and I are high school sweethearts...and going to my parents house...takes us both back in time. His parents have since moved away...but my parents live in the same small town...in the same house! We always eat at the same place we used to go on dates...and make out on the front step like the old days. Completely grosses the kids out...but hey...we have to torture them somehow!!

Hope you have a weekend filled with lots of warm cozy hugs and yummy goodies...and don't forget to take a moment and "remember" with your hubby the "old" days:) Then go find some mistletoe!!!!

Christmas Cards...sent!

I finally sent off the last of my Christmas cards today! Every year I tell myself I am going to send SIMPLE cards. I guess I really do not understand that concept...or SIMPLE is not in my vocabulary! Such a relief to have them all finished & sent!!

My tastes have changed BIG time over the years!! It is always an inner battle...do I put out the Santas this year...Country Christmas and tole painted??? I want an AQUA Christmas...or a PINK Christmas...with GLITTER EVERYWHERE...a funky vintage tree...a different theme every year. Some of these decorations I have had for 20 years....BUT how do I NOT put out the Santas that my mom painted me...or the tole painted Nativity set??? It all makes sense when my kids go around and comment on each decoration...about how much they LOVE the gourd snowmen...and remember how we all made these together...so here are a few pictures....

A Sweet Hello from Mr. Snowman

Hope you had a great day! Just when I thought I was having "one of those days" a friend told me my hair looked really pretty today. Isn't funny how a simple compliment out of no where can brighten your day??? So...for the rest of the season...I am going to try to go out of my way to compliment my friends...I mean...they are all great & amazing...I need to tell them more often:) I appreciate all of you too!! Your BLOGS give me sweet encouragement!!!
